Frequently asked questions

How do I get on the leaderboard?

Run the test from the home page, hit "Publish on the wall", pick a nickname and give consent. No sign-up, no email: just a name and the tick box.

How is my position calculated?

By measured download speed; on a tie the lower ping wins. There is also a "lowest ping" view for gamers. The weekly and monthly leaderboards reset when the week and the month change.

Can I change my nickname or remove my result?

Yes. When you publish we show you a result code: write to us from the Contact page quoting that code or the nickname and we delete the row, without asking for any further data.

Are the results verified?

No, and we say so openly. We only accept measurements actually taken on the site and we drop values that are impossible for the connection type, but this stays a leaderboard for fun, not a certification.
