Is the site down or is it just me?
Type the address: our server tries to reach the site and tells you whether it responds, how fast, and how far the request gets.
How to read the result
- The trace pulses (green): the site responds. If it won't open for you, the problem is on your side: Wi-Fi, router, DNS or provider.
- The trace is irregular (amber): the server is on but returns an error, for example 503. The problem is the site's: nothing to change on your end.
- The trace is flat (red): the site is unreachable. The highlighted step shows where it stops: the name does not exist, the server does not answer or the certificate is not valid.
Down for everyone or just you?
- Check the site above.
- If it responds, run the speed test: if your line is fine, try another browser or your phone's mobile data.
- If several sites won't open, check your provider's status or try changing DNS.
- If the site doesn't answer us either, there is nothing you can do: wait for them to fix it.
The check runs from a single server (United States) and looks at the website, not apps: if an app like WhatsApp has an outage, its website may still respond. We don't store the sites you check.
Frequently asked questions
Does the check see the site the way I do?
Almost always, but it runs from our server, not from your connection. A site blocked only in your country or by your provider may still look reachable from here.
Why does the site respond but won't open for me?
The problem is between you and the site: Wi-Fi, router, DNS, browser extensions or an outage at your provider. The speed test and network status help you tell which.
How many checks can I run?
Up to 10 a minute and 60 a day. If several people check the same site within the same minute, they get the same result.
Do you store the addresses I check?
No. We only keep an anonymous counter for the usage limits and the result for 60 seconds, then it is deleted.
